Welcome

The Motor Behavior Lab is in the department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at the University of Illinois at Chicago. We work on the computational basis of biological motor behavior, examining issues ranging from motor control to motor learning and sensorimotor decision making.

Research

Our group works in motor behavior, running experiments to gather data and using computational tools to analyze the results. We generally employ a normative framework, using hypotheses to quantify how the nervous system should optimally produce behaviors, and comparing these predictions with experimental evidence.
